
El cable ACAR (Conductor de Aluminio Reforzado con Aleación) está compuesto por alambres de aluminio trenzados concéntricamente alrededor de un núcleo de aleación de aluminio. El alambre de aluminio es 1350 H-19, el mismo material que los cables conductores de la capa exterior AAC y ACSR. El núcleo de aleación de aluminio es una aleación de aluminio-magnesio-silicio 6201-T81 de alta resistencia con un 53% de IACS. El ACAR genera menores costos de mantenimiento, ya que utiliza la misma torre y poste que el ACSR. El ACAR es una excelente opción cuando se busca un diseño de línea con un precio más bajo, mayor capacidad de conducción de corriente continua (CC) y mayor tiempo de operación.
Alambres de aluminio 1350-H19, trenzados concéntricamente alrededor de un núcleo de aleación de aluminio 6201-T81. Si bien los hilos de aleación generalmente constituyen el núcleo del conductor, en algunas construcciones se distribuyen en capas a lo largo de los hilos de aluminio 1350-H19.
